When the seasons change, shelves are one of the first places I refresh in my home. For me, spring shelf styling is about keeping things light, layered, and intentional — without starting over or buying all new decor.
If your shelves feel bare after packing away winter pieces, here are some simple steps to follow to refresh them for spring.
I always clear my shelves completely before restyling. I like to start by clearing everything off to help see what I already own.
Books are one of my go-to styling tools.
They instantly add height and make shelves feel layered instead of flat.
To keep shelves from feeling cold, I mix in texture like woven accents, wood, or a touch of brass. Even small pieces make a big difference.
Adding a seasonal art print is a simple way to refresh your shelves. It gives the space a focal point and brings a subtle spring vibe. I recently added this gold framed watercolor art as well as this timeless, simple layering piece and love them both!
This is usually my final step. A little greenery or a few soft stems instantly bring shelves to life. I like to use neutral florals and greenery and will normally add a soft pop of muted spring colors, such as these gorgeous pink/purple Amazon hydrangeas.
Spring shelf styling doesn’t have to be complicated. Using books, textured pieces, and a few fresh accents is often all it takes to make shelves feel refreshed for the season.
